Green Algae Covers China’s Coastal Waters Making It Looks Like A Golf Course
How would you like to look like the Incredible Hulk while swimming? Well, that’s exactly how it’s going to be when you submerge in sea water covered with algae called enteromopha prolifera.
A report by The Upshot noted that the coastal waters in Qingdoo, a small town in Shandong Province of China has brought quite an amazing experience for the locals when they walk up one morning with their seawater covered with thick algae.
Citing CNN, The Upshot said that researchers could not identify what caused the green invasion in Chinese waters. But an expert interviewed by the cable network assumed that the algae may have been brought by “the change in the environment”.
The report also clarified that the algae is not poisonous and in no way can affect the quality of the water. Though harmless as it has been to the admiring locals, there are concerns however, that the green invasion can affect Shandong Province’s sealife. It is also feared that the green water may have an impact on the local tourism.
The greenish coastal waters have created great pictures and have continued to attract amazing images which was described by The Upshot as seemingly resembling ‘a fairway on a golf course’.
