"Grey's Anatomy" Season 10 left 2013 with so many unanswered questions. Creator Shonda Rhimes teased the mid-season finale is "bonkers," and many fans confirm it to be so. What awaits the fan-favourite couples in 2014? A Japril wedding? A Calzona new baby? A MerDer dilemma was opened up in Episode 12, and Jolex may have just gotten engaged -- or as good as that.

Jackson Avery and April Kepner

Bride-to-be April Kepner gets cold feet, asks her best friend to tell her to cancel her engagement. He lashes out at her for her crazy ideas. And then he gets up and stands up in the middle of the wedding to ask her if she loves him. Jackson Avery is not very much a gentleman in the mid-season finale of Grey's Anatomy Season 10. But Japril shippers are not blaming him.

It is not likely for April and Mattew to simply go on with the wedding. "Sorry Jackson, you had your chance," is not something April could say, based on her utter shock over the brazen move. Groom Matthew, for his part, has surrender written all over his face. Poor guy. Now, will there be a Japril wedding instead on Grey's Anatomy Season 10?

Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins

In the midst of a malpractice trial, it is revealed to the viewers that the couple had attempted to have another baby. Will they try again? The good news is, the pair is both trying to fix their marital problems now.

Arizona resents that Callie does not seem to be okay with who she is now. Callie has been trying to fix her, she says. When will these two sit down to have the talk? Classic failure to communicate is their worst problem, according to some fans.

Meredith Grey and Derek Shepherd

MerDer is nominated at the People's Choice Awards 2014 for Favourite On-Screen Chemistry. (Results will be announced on Jan. 8.) In the mid-season finale of Grey's Anatomy Season 10, however, some major trouble just got brewed for the couple, thanks to the President of the United States.

Derek tells wifey Meredith that it's her time to shine. He's taking the back seat and will be focused on the kids. But it's not going to happen if the president calls him to change his plans, is it?

Jo Wilson and Alex Karev

Jo Wilson and Alex Karev practically got engaged the moment he tells her they're the only ones they need. (It means no James Remar or Karev's dad Jimmy Evans. But Karev doesn't know his dad's life was hanging in the balance at the time.) An ambiguous reaction gets painted on Jo's face while Karev goes on and on, but she may have just been surprised by the "we'll-definitely-be-together-for-the-rest-of-our-lives" pronouncements.

It seems everything is going smoothly for Jolex. This couple has been generally stable, but who knows what Shonda Rhimes and company would do next?
