Grey's Anatomy Season 10: Alex Karev and Jackson Avery, Jolex and Japril Stories to Change
Will Katherine Heigl return to Seattle?
Grey's Anatomy Season 10 will see major changes in the lives of several characters in the series. Meredith and Derek welcomes Baby Bailey. Richard Webber may or may not be a goner. Owen Hunt is on a path to adoption. Calzona could be splitting. As for Jolex, Alex Karev could ask Jo Wilson to move in. And Japril - how would Jackson Avery respond to April Kepner's 'I want you' confession?
Alex Karev has turned his life around since hearing from Arizona that his life is practically less important than hers. (Ergo, it would have made sense if he was on the plane that crashed.) She makes Karev realize that there are no major things going on in his life, i.e. no baby, no spouse. So in the earlier episodes of Grey's Anatomy Season 9, Karev buys Meredith's house.
Karev is a proud homeowner. It is easy to imagine that he would invite Jo to move in. Now that their relationship has been sealed with a kiss, Jolex shippers are hopeful that neither one of them would mess it up. Grey's Season 9 slowly established the Jolex love story, so it's only natural for the Season 10 to center on this developed pairing.
Conflict is expected in the Jolex territory. Myers and Karev are likely to have a major face off next season. Jo could freak out if/when an ex girlfriend returns to see her new beau. (Katherine Heigl reprising her role as Izzie Stevens could be wonderful if there's no more resentment between her and production.)
As for Jackson Avery, the girl he once proposed to is finally coming to terms with her feelings towards him. Ironically, it happens when she's about to marry someone else. "You're getting married," he tells April Kepner. "I want you," she tells him, saying further that all Avery has to do is to tell her to not marry Matthew. Kepner is one very confused woman.
One moment she's thrilled to be engaged, the next moment, she's telling her ex-boyfriend to take her in his life. Sarah Drew, who plays Kepner, explains the confusion.
"In a lot of ways, she's not really completely aware of how she feels about Jackson. There's residual stuff from what their relationship was as a couple that with the closeness of their friendship and their chemistry draw them together. I don't think she is aware that she's pulled between Jackson and Matthew, even if she is," Drew told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.
Grey's Anatomy Season 10 will obviously explore this confusion further. Jackson hated how April treated him during their shortlived dalliance. She couldn't see through him, couldn't see why they should be together. And now Jackson is with someone who adores him. What happens next?
