Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Cristina Yang do not have an elaborate farewell scene in Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 23. But Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) gets to ask Yang to not to leave him until she is "really leaving."

Series creator Shonda Rhimes could be saving the big Grey-Yang goodbye for the Grey's Anatomy Season 10 finale. Responding to a fan's query on Twitter, Rhimes said, "I think that Cristina and Meredith's relationship was THE relationship of the show. Not as important. MORE important."

"I did my crying. When we wrote it. When we filmed it. When we edited it. When we scored it," Rhimes also tweeted about the Grey's Anatomy Season 10 finale. This implies fans should brace themselves. Two years ago, Lexie Grey's (Chyler Leigh) death shocked fans. That anything can happen in Shondaland is now very clear.

A fan (@ilijajerkovic) asks Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes: Is a spin-off with Cristina leading a Zurich hospital possible? Rhimes said, "No." Some fans wonder if this implies Cristina dies in the Grey's Anatomy Season 10 finale.

However, in a TV Line report, Michael Ausiello describes Cristina Yang's exit as "non-deadly." There is a spoiler photo in the same report, showing Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) with a patient. Viewers will see "a flood of casualties to Grey Sloan Memorial" in Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 24.

Another fan (@RizzoliGrey) asks Shonda: Are you nervous over likely reactions to Cristina's exit? Again, Rhimes said, "No." She added viewers will see "the only exit [Rhimes] could ever imagine for Yang." The answer does not cancel the possibility of Yang dying, but fans could wait a few more hours, anyway.
