Fans know that Meredith Grey has a lot to deal with after her "person" Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) is gone and her husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) is looking forward to work in Washington. To add to her misery, she has another secret half sister to work with at the Grey Sloan Hospital. So what lies in her future? Will Meredith move to Washington with Derek?

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ellen Pompeo teased subtle hints about her character's future on the show.

"Obviously, Meredith and Derek can't go anywhere because the show can't be in Washington..." Ellen Pompeo tells EW.

"Because then I would know that my parents are really alive and living in the White House and that might piss Meredith off...," the "Grey's Anatomy" actress said jokingly.

She reveals that Meredith and Derek's fight about moving to Washington DC will be solved "rather quickly." It means there will be some problems in their married life, but the couple "won't end their marriage over it," as suggested by the entertainment news website.

Furthermore, fans can expect an exciting twist in the love lives of Alex and Jo. In an interview with TV Line, Shonda Rhimes teased growing closeness between Meredith and Alex.

"Jo is going to be horrified to discover how much time Alex is going to be spending with Meredith," Shonda Rhimes told TV Line. Jo is also going to be surprised to see Meredith spending much of her time "at their house."

The producer explained that this would happen because of Cristina's departure. Alex (Justin Chambers) reportedly feels like he is "responsible" for Meredith. He feels that not only Cristina has left him the seat on board of directors but has also "left him Meredith." As teased by Rhimes, Alex is going to be the one she is going to "talk to" in the absence of "her best friend and her husband."

Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis has joined the cast of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 11. TV Line has presented scoop on "The Long Kiss Goodnight" and "Thelma & Louise" star's role in the 11th season of the show. The website revealed that she will appear as a surgeon. And she is not going to fill "the hole left by the loss of Meredith's best friend."

The publication also sheds light on the return of Kate Burton's Ellis Grey. It is reported that the flashbacks will involve Ellis and Richard (James Pickens Jr.) and their love child Maggie ( Kelly McCreary).

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 11 premieres Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
