‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Episode 8 Spoilers: Alex decides between Meredith and Jo in mid-season finale, ‘Things we Lost in the Fire’
Episode 8 of "Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12, titled “Things we Lost in the fire," is the mid-season finale, and it is expected to be a nail biting one.
The episode will see Jo (Camilla Luddington) confronting Alex (Justin Chambers), as she gets jealous of his and Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) friendship. She accuses Alex of giving Meredith more priority than he gives her. Alex tries to explain his friendship with Meredith and ends up saying, “she is the only one I can count on," which angers Jo, causing a tiff between the couple.
As the rumour mill around the hospital continues to spiral out of control, Grey Sloan Memorial is flooded with injured firefighters from a nearby wildfire, says the official synopsis.
The mid-season finale is also likely to give us a hint about what did Riggs do to make Owen hate him. A sneak peak of the episode shows Amelia confronting Meredith about that. Amelia is angry that Owen chose to confide in Meredith and not her. When confronted, Meredith is seen saying, “It has got nothing to do with you… It’s about Christina.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin McKidd, the actor who plays Owen, said that it has something to do with life and death.
"All I'll say is it's life and death. It's a life and death thing," McKidd said. "He's not ready to talk about it, but something obviously dreadful and awful has happened between him and Riggs. We will find that out. I can't tell you what that is, because that would spoil it. But it really triggers a lot of that dark[ness]."
Elsewhere, April, who was excited about Jackson asking her out in Season 7, is heartbroken to find out that he wants to talk about divorce, but they end up having sex, giving hope that they might reunite, according to spoiler reports.
Meanwhile, Maggi is valiantly trying to keep things strictly professional between her and Andrews.
In Last week’s episode of "Grey’s Anatomy," titled “Something Against you," Meredith tried to look past Penny’s past and train her, but she ended up bullying her. When Callie confronted her about that, she started to take it too easy on Penny.
Maggie found out that Bailey hired Dr. Nathan Riggs, a new cardio, without consulting her first, which made her and also Owen angry, the latter told Bailey, “You have made a huge mistake.” In the end, April told Arizona that she has a date with Jackson, and Arizona picked Richard as her wingman at the dating bar.
“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 12 Episode 8, “Things we Lost in the fire” airs on ABC on Thursday night in the U.S.
