'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 updates: Shondaland's medical drama scores major win at the People's Choice Awards
The cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” ditched their scrub suits for a night of being dressed to kill when they attended the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. The big and glamorous event was held at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. It has to be noted, however, that this group is actually no stranger to this prestigious ceremony. Last year, almost the entire cast showed up on the same event to blow the audience away.
For this year, Chanda Wilson, Kelly McCreary, Sarah Drew, Jason George, James Pickens Jr, Caterina Scorsone and a gorgeously pregnant Camilla Luddington attended the event. When the show kicked off, the night just got even better. The crew snapped selfies and won for Favourite Network TV Drama. The show was also a nominee for Favourite TV Show, although that prize went to “Outlander.”
Camilla Luddington Wows With Her Baby Bump
Standing out from the crowd was Camilla Luddington, who showed off her third trimester baby bump. The 33-year-old star looked gorgeous with her long black dress and purple high heels, placing her pregnancy in full view. The soon-to-be mother rocked the red carpet and was all smiles for that night.
Luddington briefly spoke with Entertainment Tonight, where she revealed that the cast has been rubbing her belly for good luck. As for the gender of her baby, the English actress did not reveal it yet, but she said that she might announce later in the week. Actor Matt Allan is the father of Luddington’s child.
While her baby bump is now very apparent, her pregnancy was announced way back in October through an Instagram post. In the said post, she posed with a pumpkin, teasing her own anticipation of her belly becoming bigger when spring comes.
Jo and Alex, or Jo and DeLuca?
With her baby bump becoming more visible, fans might be expecting her character on “Grey’s Anatomy” to get pregnant, as well. The show is slated to return on January 26 and fans are getting eager to know whether her character, Jo Wilson, will be sporting the bump. While Jo’s relationship with Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) looks like it is over, this could mean a new relationship between Jo and Andrew DeLuca, which has been blossoming since Season 13, might happen.
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs at 8:00 p.m. on ABC in the US. In Australia, it airs on Channel Seven.
