The great doctors of primetime television are back on the new season of "Grey's Anatomy" and they in store more of that medical drama this season.

ABC broadcast the two-hour premiere episode of "Grey's Anatomy" last night and stirred Thursday's primetime. The gang of medical practitioners will bring in new complex medical cases and relationship mishaps in the new season.

We thought that the sinkholes in Seattle mark the end of this Australia's most-watched medical drama. However, season 8 will get tougher for all the cast. Some of the this season's highlights:

  • Show's front liner Meredith Grey will face the circumstances of her tampering the Alzheimer's trial. She lost her job but will get help from an unlikely person, Alex Karev. She will also face the hardships in her relationship with Derek.
  • Cristina will have another pregnancy and is thinking of having an abortion. Owen will be furious about Cristina's decision but soon will understand that it is still her decision. Meredith and Derek will also have their own baby issues.

Creator Shonda Rhimes said that the season premiere marked the 150th episode of the show and she and her team are trying to keep everything fresh so that it is not stale. The new "Grey's Anatomy" is different from what we have first seen three years ago. Rhimes said that they try to dig more cases so that "a) it's cutting edge; and b) that these are stories that are new, fresh and interesting."
