Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Episode 4: 'Saw her standing there' moves characters forward
Arizona stands up, Callie confronts guilt, and Catherine Avery returns
Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Episode 4: "Saw her standing there"
Grey's Anatomy last week (Episode 3: "Love the one you're with") showed an air of renewed courage among the characters. It was like a transition episode, after which changes are expected. True enough, in a promo video for this week's episode of the ABC series, the characters are moving on.
Grey's Anatomy Season 9 Episode 4: "Saw [Arizona] standing there"
Arizona Robbins is seen trying to stand up with a prosthetic leg. It seems her "standing" up will be the central story in the episode. Alex Karev helps her although it seems she is not keen on getting assistance. Callie Torres voices out her guilt for the first time. "I'm the bad doctor," she says.
For her part, Grey's Anatomy series creator Shonda Rhimes hints that the writers will show an inspiring Arizona this season. She and Callie will get their mojo back. Well, last week she sat in the pool of her own - excuse the image - urine. She's the tough and feisty Arizona Robbins. That has got to be her lowest moment. Nowhere else to go but up.
Sex Friends, from Minnesota to Seattle
Cristina Yang gets a Minnesotan "sex friend," to which Meredith Grey reacts, "Ew." Then there's April Kepner. She is definitely moving forward with Jackson Avery. But unlike Yang, Kepner might not have the chutzpah to admit Jackson is, in fact, a sex friend - for now.

Another "sex friend" is coming back to Seattle, much to Jackson's chagrin. Richard Webber calls Christine Avery for help in a medical procedure. Jackson has not yet come to terms with the fact that his mother is sleeping with the ex-chief. This will result in a standoff. Miranda Bailey will give the boys a piece of her mind - and she won't hold back, of course.
Kevin McKidd, who plays Owen Hunt, directs this week's episode. He has promised in an interview that this episode will be much lighter than the first three installments of the season.
Grey's Anatomy airs on U.S. television via ABC every Thursday night.
