"Grey's Anatomy" Season 9 will see one of, if not the most level-headed characters of the drama series get happily married. Meanwhile, one of the main characters is leaving for good.

Chandra Wilson, who plays the ever-outspoken Miranda Bailey, recalls what her character told Callie (Sara Ramirez) when she got married: "I've already done the wedding dress and the church and it didn't work out." This line tells Wilson that Miranda's wedding will not be as traditional as her first.

Bailey's wedding is silver lining

Bailey's relationship with anesthesiologist Dr. Ben Warren (Jason George) ended abruptly just after the freak shooting incident at Seattle Grace at the end of Season 7. At the time, Bailey reckoned she did not want to be with someone who could not be with her at a time of crisis. Ben, for his part, regretted having neglected his phone just when Miranda needed him the most. He truly loved her, and he showed this when he came back to her life.

In real life, George left Grey's Anatomy for a while to star in another medical drama, "Off the Map." This series was canceled after just one season.

George reprised his role as Ben when he came back to Grey's in Season 8. 'Love is indeed lovelier the second time around' for him and Bailey. They got engaged towards the end of the season in May, despite Miranda's initial reservations on an imminent long distance relationship. For the fans of the series, Miranda's happiness is the brightest silver lining amid the dark clouds cast over most of the characters next season.

Bailey talks about Mark Sloan

Meanwhile, Wilson tells TV Line that the Grey's show runners are giving Mark Sloan (Eric Dane) a "really creative send-off."

Creator Shonda Rhimes has been mum on how Sloan will exit the series. Will he die? Will he move? Everything remains a top secret following Dane's revelation that he was moving on.

Wilson was also careful in teasing the fans on how Sloan's departure will be shown.

"Eric gets the chance to do some really beautiful stuff in the first two episodes," she said.

Fans can only anticipate another compelling performance from Dane. It will be hard to top what Dane's character has gone through in last season's finale (in which his 'soulmate' Lexie Grey died). But he still has a baby daughter and some very close friends to say goodbye to, i.e. Callie, Derek (Patrick Dempsey), so it is possible some heart-wrenching scenes still await Dane.

Grey's Anatomy will return for its ninth season in the fall.
