Grigor Dimitrov Shares Fashion Tips With Maria Sharapova
Grigor Dimitrov is well-aware that his girlfriend Maria Sharapova has her pulse on the latest fashion trends, and he knows how to make use of her fashion sense. Dimitrov said that he likes to share style tips with his Russian tennis darling.
"We talk about it," Dimitrov told Vogue when asked if he shares style tips with Sharapova. "Lying down, one is reading the magazine, one is with the iPad, we say 'What do you think of this or that,'" he added. Dimtirov said that he welcomes and appreciates Sharapova's style ideas and admitted that he loves how she accessorize and accent her outfits.
"I love the way she dresses."
Apart from Sharapova, Dimitrov also revealed that he looks up to retired American tennis player Andre Agassi and said that he is one of his tennis style icons. Outside the sporting world of tennis, the Bulgarian athlete said that he also admires Johnny Depp's fashion style.
Dimitrov also fancies the laid-back bohemian style, especially off the tennis court and would not mind donning the grunge look. "I love Rick Owen's stuff, for example."
Dimitrov matches his great clothes and fabulous fashion ideas by accessorizing with jewelleries. "I am always wearing a bracelet, necklace, and watch." While it may be a little tempting to overdo outfit by wearing jewelleries, Dimitrov tries not to overdo it and doesn't even care if they do not match.
In May, Dimitrov was named Italian GQ's Most Stylish Player. He was the third tennis athlete to have been given the award. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic reportedly received the same award in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
Currently, Dimitrov is taking part at the 2014 US Open. He has advanced into the fourth round after beating Ryan Harrison, Dudi Sela, and David Goffin in previous matches. This is the first time that Dimitrov has made it past the first round at Flushing Meadows. He will face Gael Monfils of France in the fourth round on Sept. 1. Dimitrov faced Monfils in the first round of the 2011 US Open and suffered loss. In 2012, he grieved another loss in the first round of the said tournament against another France native Benoit Paire. He was ousted in the first round for the third time in the 2013 US Open after falling to Portugal's Joao Sousa.
