Grizzlies Upset Thunder , 111-105 (OT) in Game 2, Ties Series

The Memphis Grizzlies did not allow the Oklahoma City Thunder to a fast start in Game Two then held them off in the extra period to net the 111-105 victory and tie the best-of-seven series of their first round match-up in the Western Conference NBA Playoffs.

The Grizzlies allowed only 16 points in the first quarter when they built an early 8-point lead. The Thunder repeatedly attempted to comeback and did in the final quarter when they forced overtime courtesy of a putback from Kendrick Perkins.

The Thunder had a chance to win the game in the extra period but Kevin Durant missed a crucial free throw with less than a minute to go that could have given OKC the lead.

There were lots of unsung heroes for the Grizzlies on this one.

Beno Udrih scored 14 points off the bench on 6-of-8 shooting and was huge when the Grizzlies created another big lead in the 3rd quarter while Tony Allen and Mike Miller also chipped in 8 and 9 points, respectively.

Allen, who was assigned to contain Kevin Durant for majority of the game, also held the OKC superstar to just 12-of-28 field goal shooting. Durant finished with 36 points.

Memphis' stars came to play in Game Two led by Zach Randolph, who had 25 markers including one late in the game to give the Grizz the lead and eventually, the victory.

Mike Conley had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists while Marc Gasol finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists.

For the losing side, Russell Westbrook had 29 points but missed 17-of-28 attempts. Serge Ibaka had 15 points, 11 boards and 5 blocked shots.
