"GTA Online" has a new ongoing double GTA$ and RP event this week. Rockstar Games

There’s still time for “GTA Online” players to get into the groove of the Time Trials Week. Developer Rockstar Games has announced the event, which will run until May 12 and bring the Freemode Time Trials.

Alongside this event is the chance for players to earn Double GTA$ and RP. At the same time, they can explore the different races with the goal of beating the par time. Within 24 hours, players will need to complete the Time Trial per day. The remaining runs include the Great Ocean Highway for May 9, the Sawmill for May 10, the Maze Bank Arena for May 11 and End to End on May 12.

Anyone who has already completed these Time Trials before the event can still get the full completion reward when they do a run on the designated day.

As with any other “GTA Online” event, there’s also an ongoing discount in stores. To help overcome the harder solo challenges offered by Time Trials, players can avail of the T20, the Zentorno and the Pegassi Osiris, all of which are discounted at half the price, Rockstar Games announced via the Newswire. These are pretty much the fastest wheels in town, so it’s best to include them in the line-up.

Motorcycle rides Hakuchou and Akuma are also discounted at 50 percent, for those who prefer to go through the terrain on lighter two-wheels. It’s the best time to add the two bikes to the collection, given the generous discount. Other notable things to get with the event include 30 percent discounts on some vehicle mods, free use of the handy Mechanic Service and Lester’s Cops Turn Blind Eye and Remove Wanted level.

Rockstar Games is continuing its updates for “GTA Online.” This is especially the case now, as a report has shown that the microtransactions in the game is reaping some big money for the developer.

GameSpot reported that the free multiplayer mode’s microtransactions is generating as much as half a billion dollars. Essentially, the microtransactions are optional, but they do give players the option to progress through quickly. The report had revealed that the US$500 million revenue came from microtransactions alone. This may not be a surprise considering how popular the game is with its eight million players every week.

As seen in the recent additions, Rockstar Games may not be stopping support for “GTA Online" anytime soon. It has introduced some new themed content, which also come with weapons, vehicles, items and new modes for players to collect and explore through.
