‘Guardians of the Galaxy' Movie Spoilers, Scenes Of Star Lord, Thanos And The Gem Of Power
The movie sequence of "Guardians of the Galaxy" opens with Peter Quill's childhood and ends with him as Star Lord, fighting dangers with fellow guardians Gamora, Groot and Rocket after he retrieved the purple Gem of Power.
Warning: Heavy Spoilers Ahead For "Guardians of the Galaxy"
latino-review provided spoilers for the "Guardians of the Galaxy," where the first scene in the movie starts off with young Peter Quill (Chris Pratt). His mom is dying in the hospital. She hands Peter Quill a gift and keeps talking about his father being an angel. Sadly, she dies and Peter runs outside of the hospital, only to be abducted by aliens.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" flashes its scene forward to 20 years. The scene changes from the hospital to a desolate planet a million miles away. Peter Quill is now Star Lord. According to i09, Star Lord is aware that he is from Earth. In an interview with i09, Chris Pratt shared details about his character.
"Peter Quill is a guy who's half-human, half-alien. We know the movie starts on Earth, but is set mostly in space."
A scene in "Guardians of the Galaxy" shows Star Lord retrieving a silver orb (spoiler: this is one of the gems needed to power the Infinity Gauntlet) from an abandoned temple (much like the scene in the movie trailer below). Suddenly, Korath shows up with some Kree goons to intercept Star Lord. Luckily, he escapes and heads to the home of the Nova Corp, where he plans to sell the silver orb.
The scene changes to feature a villain character in "Guardians of the Galaxy." Ronan the Accuser is not one to mess around, reports i09. He is a Kree who plays a key role in the Kree-Skrull War as well as Annihilation.
Ronan the Accuser is not pleased when he learned of Korath's failure to secure the silver orb. Turns out he's promised to secure the orb for Thanos, who in turn will destroy Xandar (another spoiler pointing to Thanos' need to acquire the orb/gem for his Infinity Gauntlet). Thanos is so determined to get the orb that he even allowed his two daughters, augmented assassins Gamora and Nebula, to assist Ronan.
The scene changes again to feature Xandar. Gamora (Zoe Saldana) heads out to Xandar to find the Star Lord so she can retrieve the orb. However, "Guardians of the Galaxy" has fortune hunters Rocket and Groot. They also happen to be in Xandar looking for quick cash when they come across Star Lord.
In Xandar, Star Lord attempts to sell the silver orb to an antiquities dealer. However, the dealer kicks him out when he realizes who is after the orb. That's when Gamora, Rocket and Groot decide to nab Star Lord. An elaborate chase scene happens through the streets of Xandar in "Guardians of the Galaxy." Unfortunately, the Nova Corp arrives to arrest everyone.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" now brings viewers to a scene where Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket and Groot are locked up in The Klyn. Two things are brought to light while they are locked up: One, Star Lord was supposed to share the silver orb's shares with fellow space pirate Yondu and two, Ronan the Accuser and Nebula have problems with authority.
While visiting Thanos' throne, Ronan and Nebula threw harsh words at Thanos' right-hand man, The Other, after he lectures them about showing respect for Thanos. This is the scene in "Guardians of the Galaxy" where Thanos appears and things didn't turn out well for Ronan and Nebula. Thanos assures Ronan that he will still destroy Xandar as soon as he hands him the orb.
Space prison in "Guardians of the Galaxy" is not good for Gamora. Being the adopted daughter of Thanos has instantly gained her enemies, including Drax the Destroyer chief. A scene shows Gamora being cornered by vengeful prisoners, and Drax almost killed her. However, she saves herself when she says that she doesn't love Thanos and would love to kill him more than anyone. Later, things calm down long enough for Rocket to come up with a plan of escape, so they can head out to the mysterious Collector who will pay enough money for the orb.
Drax eventually sides with the prisoners in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and helps them escape. Drax and the guardians head out to the giant Celestial's cranium called Knowhere to meet The Collector (another spoiler pertaining to the end credits of "Thor: The Dark World") . After a demonstration from The Collector, Gamora, Drax, Star Lord, Rocket and Groot learns the dangers lurking within the silver orb: the purple gem of power. Things suddenly erupts into danger when both Yondu and Ronan the Accuser arrives looking for a fight.
