‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’: Jennifer Lawrence prefers James Gunn film over X-Men movies
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is not only much-awaited by the fans but also by Jennifer Lawrence who is apparently a big fan of the franchise. The actress recently said that she would love to play Mystique in Guardians 2 rather than playing the role in another X-men movie.
While in an interview with MTV news, when Lawrence was asked if she wants to be a part of the film, she said, “Oh my god, I would love to. I actually don’t even know — I would choose that over doing another 'X-Men' movie. I won’t be Mystique in the X-Men movies, but I would love to be Mystique in Guardians of the Galaxy. I wonder if they can do that.”
After hearing Lawrence’s answer, Chris Pratt looked at the camera and said, “It just happened.” He shook hands with her and smiled while saying, “This is a binding legal contract.” Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt were promoting their forthcoming film “Passengers”.
Since, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is in post-production stage, it is unlikely that Lawrence will be a part of the film. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her in any of the other forthcoming instalments.
Why Jenner Lawrence isn’t keen on doing another X-men movie?
Jennifer Lawrence has always remained confused about X-men films. In a 2015 interview, Lawrence said that “X-Men: Apocalypse” will be her last film in the franchise. However, a year after that the actress said that she was “dying to come back.”
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is Lawrence’s last X-men movie in the franchise. With that the future of the franchise is also in doubts. “Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking. Like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are,” she said earlier this year to Entertainment Weekly.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” is slated to release in Australia on April 25. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt starrer “Passengers” is hitting the screens on Jan. 1.
