‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’s’ Groot Vin Diesel Recommended For Oscars 2015 As His 2009 Helium Voice Goes Viral
Paul Walker’s “Furious 7” co-star Vin Diesel took to Facebook to thank Manohla Dargis of The New York Times for recommending him for an Oscars 2015 award under the Best Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of Groot in the film “Guardians Of The Galaxy.”
“Grateful for the opportunity to breathe life into such a unique and rewarding character... Happy Creative...” Diesel wrote. Based on Dargis’ list, he should be competing for the Academy Awards’ Best Supporting Actor against Josh Brolin in “Inherent Vice,” Cedric The Entertainer” in “Top Five,” Tom Hiddleston in “Archipelago” and Mark Ruffalo in “Foxcatcher.”
Directed by James Gunn, the action adventure film “Guardians Of The Galaxy” also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Bradley Cooper. Both Diesel and Cooper voiced the characters Groot and Rocket respectively.
