Guy Sebastian made an embarrassing gaffe at the Australian X Factor in his introduction of one of the acts on the television show which airs live. Sebastian is the second Australian star following Australia's Next Top Model host Sarah Murdoch to fall prey to live television.

Sebastian began with an explaination how he met the Mahogany, an all-female act, whom the Australian singer had been mentoring on X Factor.

Guy Sebastian said: "Well, I met these girls on a tour that I did a little while ago, and they blew me away then, and then they walked into the audition room and blew me again."

Realising what he has just said, Guy Sebastian put his head in his hands. Sebastian looked horrified as his fellow judges Kyle Sandilands, Ronan Keating and Natalie Imbruglia, along with the studio audience, laughed at his gaffe.

But Sebastian's and Murdoch's gaffes could be forgiven since doing a live television show is a very hard task.

Former Australian Idol host Gretel Killeen said: "Those who've worked in live television, as I have, know that mistakes occur so relentlessly it's half the hosting gig to hide them."
