Halle Berry is currently embroiled in another legal battle with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. Again, the legal battle is over their daughter Nahla and how Gabriel disrespected Berry's joint rights over their daughter by changing their daughter's hair colour so that she would look less African-American.

"The Call" star feels that her ex and the father of her Nahla does not know the meaning of joint legal custody by not consulting her over the decision to change their daughter's hair colour. The actress fears that changing the colour of their 6-year-old daughter to allegedly make her look less African-American can pose psychological and physical damages on the child.

To make her point loud and clear that she does not want Gabriel to carry out decisions without her consent, Halle Berry took the matter to the courts. In the legal documents, Halle accused Gabriel of causing "potential psychological and physical damage" to their daughter, because a change of her hair colour could make the young girl wonder "why her natural appearance is not good enough."

The 48-year-old actress wanted the court to step in and make Gabriel see what it means to have joint legal custody. "I want both Gabriel and I to make decisions together that affect our daughter, her growth, her development and her general welfare," the documents read. The same documents saw Halle Berry wishing that she and Gabriel could work better to be effective parents for their daughter. She said she regrets going to court but thinks it is the only resort for her to protect her daughter's interests.

The actress herself did not appear at the court hearing yesterday morning. However, the judge still ruled that both she and Gabriel has no right to alter Nahla's appearance from its natural state.

It could be remembered that the "Monster Ball" star broke up with Gabriel in April 2010, after they started seeing each other two years ago. They got into a vicious court battler over their daughter when the actress wanted to bring her daughter to the house of her current husband Olivier in France. Oliver and Gabriel got into a physical fight as a result. The joint custody rights were granted to the ex-couple in 2012. Halle Berry is presently shelling out $16,000 a month in child support, although she is also fighting for this amount to be lessened.
