Black Christmas (1974)

This 1974 movie was written by A Roy Moore and directed by Bob Clark. The movie stars Keir Dullea, Olivia Hussey, Andrea Martin, Margot Kidder, John Saxon and Marian Waldman. The movie is about some college students who have to encounter a serial killer in their house. The movie is based on a real-life series of killings in Quebec during Christmas. There was a remake of the original, which was made in 2006.

 The Brood (1979)

This is another science fiction movie that also depicts horror. David Cronenberg wrote and directed the movie which starred Samantha Eggar, Oliver Reed and Art Hindle. The movie is about a series of killings by a group of 'psychoplasmic' children who are born off a woman who is mentally disturbed. The husband is fighting for custody and for their daughter.

 Screamers (1995)

This science fiction horror movie was written by Dan O'Bannon and directed by Christian Duguay. The movie features Peter Weller, Jennifer Rubin and Roy Dupuis. The movie is based on "Second Variety," the short story written by Philip K Dick. A sequel to the movie was released in 2009.

 End of the Line (2007)

This horror movie from Canada is written, directed and produced by Maurice Deveraux. This 2007 movie is about Karen (played by Ilona Elkin) who is a traumatised woman. The story follows her as she gets trapped in a subway.

 Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2008)

This comedy horror movie was directed by Jon Knautz while Brooksteet Pictures produced it. The movie is about Jack, a plumber, whose family is slaughtered by a demon. The character is played by Trevor Matthews. The movie was first shown at Sitges Film Festival in Oct. 2007. Then it was released in Canada and the United States in 2008.
