American actor Neil Patrick Harris and his fiancé, David Burtka makes the cutest Halloween family around. The "How I Met Your Mother" star's family dressed up in colourful fairly tale attire for his kid's pre-school Halloween party and shared the picture on Instagram.

"Our costumes for the Halloween carnival at the kids' preschool yesterday. But 10/31 will be frighteningly different..! @DavidBurtka came up with both themes/costumes. He's amazing," the actor wrote the caption on the colourful picture.

The two actors chose the cutest theme of "Alice in Wonderland" and dressed up as Tweedledee and Tweedledum complete with bright yellow shirts, white jackets, blue bowties and red pants and hats. Their twins Harper and Gideon looked cute as a button with Harper dressed as a lovely Alice in blue shirt and white tunic. Gideon looks the sweetest of them all dressed up as a rabbit with furry cap, shoes, nose and mittens!

The family has been getting lot of wonderful comments on Instagram for their choice of costumes.

"Omg u r soooo....... cute I love Alice in wonderland & little cuties in costumes," writes one user emochick42.

"Quite possibly the cutest family costume ever," writes mrsbobevans in another comment.

The family takes Halloween dressing up quite seriously and is saying that they will dress up in "frightening" costumes on October 31. The cute family dressed up as Wizard of Oz-inspired outfits last year and before that in 2011 they were Peter Pan.

Harris confirmed that he is gay in November 2006 and announced David Burtka as his partner. The couple were blessed with fraternal twins Gideon Scott, a boy, and Harper Grace, a girl, in 2010.
