‘Halo 5 Guardians’ dev details upcoming plans, teases spring and summer content like Warzone Firefight and ranking updates
343 Industries is giving a more detailed look at what’s coming for “Halo 5 Guardians.” The developer had shared an image, seen above, which shows off what will be coming to the game in the expected updates.
In the latest Halo Waypoint blog update, 343 Industries confirmed that it will bring in a few new multiplayer modes, vehicles, weapons, maps and REQs. These are all coming alongside other game fixes, a lot of which are based on feedback from players of “Halo 5 Guardians.”

The next update is titled “Ghosts of Meridian,” and it appears that this will be coming later than how the developer had expected to roll out its updates so far. In order to keep fans up to date, before the expected release date sometime in early April, 343 Industries has given a sneak peek at what’s going on and about in the update.
Warzone Fight is the fruit of fans’ wishes of having a Warzone PvE game mode. The developer is not yet ready to divulge any other information, however, there is a single clue as to what fans can expect.
“The mode will let you team up with fellow Spartans to fight against common foes—all while showing off your custom armour and colours,” said 343 Industries in the update.
For those who are interested to see what Warzone Firefight is all about, the developer has given a sneak peek snapshot from the playtest lab. Microsoft had previously teased Firefight in late February over at the Xbox Wire.
Additionally, there is also a new season update that concerns ranking distribution for Arena players. Taking cues from the Competitive Skill Rank system that was already present at launch of “Halo 5 Guardians,” the March season will be updating this system, with the goal of reflecting the actual skill of the population of players. This will likely result in some player seeing differences in placement matches during the season.
