‘Halo Wars 2’ beta extended, ‘Halo 5 Guardians’ new maps and Forge canvas revealed
“Halo” fans will have a lot to look forward to, both in the current “Halo 5 Guardians” and the upcoming “Halo Wars 2.” The first is the fact that “Halo Wars 2” will be extended on beta for the Xbox One.
343 Industries has now extended the beta for two days until June 22. According to 343 Industries’ Dan Ayoub, he stated on Twitter that many fans have asked for the extension.
The beta extension does have its upside, particularly since it seems that the game still has a number of issues it has to resolve. Ars Technica has sampled the experience and saw a few points where the developer will still need to get some work done.
Among these is the fact that the game still faces similar problems that the previous “Halo Wars” from 2009 struggled with. It starts with the fact that “Halo Wars 2” has an extra feature of being simultaneously released on both the Xbox One and PC platforms.
Most of the look and feel of the game still follows the previous game’s design. And as far as predictability of matches go, it can go into a stalemate when players are able to reassure their team of a well-rounded approach as to what troop beats what other troop. Overall, however, “Halo Wars 2” does have some novel additions, such as introducing new game modes, units and races.
“Halo Wars 2” is still slated for a February 2017 release date. “Halo” fans can satisfy their need for the franchise with the upcoming “Halo 5 Guardians” Warzone Firefight release.
In an update via Halo Waypoint, the developer gave a sneak peek of what’s coming in the update. As it is the biggest release for the game, 343 Industries is bringing in an improved version of the Warzone Firefight PVE mode, new maps, a Warzone Boss Refresh, a new Forge canvas and better mechanics and tweaks.
The image above shows a glimpse of how Prospect, a map in the Warzone Assault, will look like. Prospect is set in a mining facility, where players will have to attack the defenders in the map. The location has different strategic points, from scaffoldings to trenches, so that players can have different ways to deal with opponents.
