‘Halo Wars 2’ second beta to arrive with new mode, dev features preview of ‘Halo 5 Guardians’ Warzone Firefight
The beta for the “Halo Wars 2” may have already ended, but fans who want to get in on the action before the actual release date of the game still have a chance.
Developer 343 Industries has confirmed that another beta will be available for “Halo Wars 2,” though this time, it will be available closer to the launch date. Additionally, GameSpot confirmed that this will be available for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms.
If that’s not enough, 343 Industries will also introduce a new mode that fans can sample during the beta. Whether or not this means that players will be able to experience the new mode in addition to the multiplayer modes first presented in the first beta remains to be seen.
One thing to note, however, is that even if the game can be played either on the Xbox One and PC thanks to it being a Play Anywhere title, the game will still not have any cross-play features.
“Halo Wars 2” will be launched sometime in February. In the meantime, “Halo” fans can still look forward to a lot of content for the “Halo 5 Guardians” title. Over at the Xbox Wire, the developer has teased yet another preview of the last free expansion coming to the game.
Set to arrive on June 29, the new expansion is not the only thing coming. Alongside the release, the entire game will be available for free download for Xbox Live Gold members. This promo will run from June 29 to July 5 in line with the Free Play Days. The game is also offered at a 50 percent discount, which is the best time to jump into the fray for those who still haven’t done so.
The “Halo 5 Guardians” Warzone Firefight content will bring in a lot of new content. The titular mode Warzone Firefight takes centre stage as the new game mode. It will have new bosses and vehicles, all of which can be used in the Forge.
The update will also introduce the Score Attack feature, which allows players to go against friends to win medals and points. There will also be new maps, Attack on Sanctum, Prospect and Molten, all three of which can be used in multiple game modes. There will also be new REQs items and a new Forge Canvas dubbed Tidal.
