Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine, popularly known as Kate Middleton turns 33 on Jan 9, 2015. The past year has been quite exciting for the Duchess as she announced her second pregnancy. The pregnant royal is likely to spend her birthday quietly with her friends and family as her next royal engagement falls on Jan 15, 2015. 1. Kate's lean athletic looks are something she worked really hard for. The Duchess liked playing various games like tennis, hockey and netball during her school time. She also played for her university's hockey team and has a high jump record at school.
2. According to ET Online, when Kate was a child, she took part in a play and played the character of a young lady wooed by a blonde and handsome prince named William.
3. There was a rumour that she had the poster of Prince William on her wall when she was studying in Marlborough College. However, the Duchess later revealed that it was a "Levi's guy" on her wall, says the website.
4. Kate's famous see through bikini dress, which attracted Prince William at a university fashion show in 2002 was auctioned in 2011 and earned more than $120,000. Its original cost was only $40. Kate and William began dating in 2003 after that and also became good friends.
5. She is six-months older to Prince William.
6. "Waitey Katey" was the name given to her by the tabloids when she was dating Prince William.
7. Kate loved being called by her name "Catherine." Her full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton.
8. The royal once worked as an accessories buyer with clothing chain Jigsaw.
