Harold Camping’s own people “did not believe The Rapture”
The 89-year-old self-proclaimed prophet needed a lot of help to collect donations that will them tell the world was about to end.
Harold Camping has reportedly spent $100 million to disseminate information of his May 21, 2011 rapture predictions. And it was a lot of money that did need a lot of work.
The 89-year-old self-proclaimed prophet needed a lot of help to collect donations that allowed him to spread the word that the world was about to end.
The former Civil Engineer - - who claimed himself as a Bible Scholar and said that he need not have to go to school to learn the bible but did it on his own - - relied on his staff at Family Radio to do a lot of work soliciting donations. Family Radio, with a licensee name as Family Stations, Inc. is a radio network founded by Lloyd Linduist and Harold Camping.
Matt Tuter, the international projects manager of Family Radio, now based in Oakland, California revealed however that most of the staff at the radio network did not believe that in fact, the world was going to end.
Christian Post said in a separate article, according to Media Bistro that a group evaluating charity works finds Tuter’s revelation ‘unethical.
Charity Navigator, which studies over 5,000 largest charities in the United States rates Family Radio as a 4-star charity.
But its vice president, Sandra Miniutti finds it unethical if the personnel soliciting donations do not believe in what they are soliciting for.
“My understanding is that they were soliciting money to help people understand the word of God,” Miniutti said, according to Media Bistro.
She added: “It’s unethical if people doing soliciting didn’t believe that the rapture wasn’t going to happen in the first place. ”
Now that it is pretty obvious that there is no truth to Harold Camping’s May 21-prediction, the self-proclaimed Bible Scholar has attempted to redeem himself by setting another date for another Judgment Day.
