Will Indiana Jones be killed on the next film of the successful franchise? Contrary to reports, Harrison Ford would rather let the hero live in Indiana Jones V.

Representatives for the actor had shot down rumor that the iconic character will be killed in the next Indiana Jones movie. Ford's reps went to The Huffinton Post to deny the report, calling it as false.

According to the rumor, Harrison Ford was said to be planning to give his character an exit out of the franchise, by killing it. Entertainment outlet Showbiz Spy quoted a source as saying that it would be good for Indiana Jones to die and pass on his hat to his son in the next one.

The Hollywood actor had reportedly approached the franchise creator George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg with the idea.

"George especially is resisting the notion but Steven is considering it. Funnily enough Harrison wanted the same for Han Solo in the final Star Wars but George put an end to it. This time he doesn't have all the say though," the source quoted by Showbiz Spy said.

Ford first portrayed the archeologist Indiana Jones back in 1981 with the first film Raiders of the Lost Ark. He reprised his role in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008, where it was revealed the hero has a son, played by Shia LeBeouf.

If the rumors were true, then LaBeouf would be in for a ride next year as the central human protagonist in Transformers franchise, with its third film Dark Moon of the Moon and the possible successor of Indiana Jones in the franchise, boosting his credential as one of Hollywood's bankable stars.
