Harry Potter actress Emma Watson dished out what appears to be a critique of Twilight movies. Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series, says the Potter franchise is "not selling sex" unlike Twilight.

"It's not 'Twilight,' you know," the British actress said. "We're not selling sex. Whenever there is any hint of that, everybody gets terribly excited."

Watson was responding to a question on the much-awaited kiss between Rupert Grint's character Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger. The actress says the kiss has been building for eight films, but Harry Potter movies are not like Twilight.

Watson may have a point. Kimberly Ripley of Gather agrees with Watson concurring that "Harry Potter" movies have managed to captivate audiences without alluding to any sexual tensions. Ripley wrote actors like the Harry Potter stars have made names for themselves by being truly excellent actors rather than showing flesh and engaging in sexual or even "steamy" acts.

Does it mean that Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart rose to fame for engaging in steamy acts?

In an interview last month, Spiderman's James Franco seems to effectively put Twilight's stark contrast with Harry Potter : "[Twilight] is crazy how much sexual tension there is... It just builds and builds. I mean it never stops. It's sort of explosive by the end. Crazy. Like they'll blow up with it."

Fans of Pattinson and Stewart should also watch out for their new features. In Hollywood movie Water for Elephants, Pattinson will showcase his acting prowess opposite Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon. Kristen Stewart is not new to acting having starred as Jodie Foster's daughter in the Panic Room, but will her acting finally be noticed in On the Road?

Moviegoers need not to choose side between Harry Potter and Twilight as the two highly-anticipated films will never go on a showdown in the box office. The first part of "Deathly Hollows" will be in theatres beginning on November 19, with part 2 hitting the movies in July of 2011. The finale films of Twilight saga will be shown on November 2011, and 2012.
