'Harry Potter's' Emma Watson Becomes a 'Perky' Highschooler
From the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to an ordinary Muggle High School, Emma Watson perks up her role as Sam in her highly anticipated post-Potter film, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".
Ditching the Gryffindor robes and her bushy hair in her all too familiar role of Hermione Granger, Emma embodies the perfect all-American teenager with plaid skirts and a variety of varsity jackets shown in the new stills released by Summit Entertainment. Her hair is still short as ever but the Lancôme model proves she's hot even with the crop.
Fans should howeve, be aware especially for those who have not read the book, that Emma's character is a far cry from her Potter character. Get ready to see Emma Watson deal with sex, smoke and a whole lot more high school drama.
The film adapted from the top grossing novel written by Stephen Chbosky revolves around the story of Charlie, played by "The Three Musketeers'" star Logan Lerman. His character, Charlie, is a fresh man in high school who awkwardly struggles to fit in with his peer group. Thankfully, he meets up with Emma Watson's character, Sam, and her brother played by Ezra Miller to show him there's more to learn out of the confinements of their high school.
In a latest still tweeted by Paradiso films, the charming photograph shows the cast in all their festive cheer complete with presents and poinsettias. No doubt the photo has got the hype going higher.
Fans of Emma Watson have been closely trailing the film's progress from the start of the casting until the behind-the-scenes filming. Hopefully with writer Stephen Chbosky directing the film himself, the actual movie won't be a flop.
Along with the newly released stills, a synopsis was posted: "A funny and touching adventure based on a best-selling novel that has sold over a million copies in the U.S. and has been published in 16 countries and 13 languages, THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER is a modern classic about a shy, sensitive teenager caught between trying to live his life and escape it."
Still with no release date in tow, fans will have to wait a little bit longer before they see Emma Watson in action. Also starring alongside Watson and Lerman are "Vampire Diaries" star Nina Dobrev, and actors Johnny Simmons, Dylan McDermott and Mae Whitman.
Toss out the wands in bring in the books, this is one film fans of Watson should keep their eyes glued on.
