Before the month of April had ended, fans of One Direction had been subject to another dating rumour about their favourite curly-haired singer, Harry Styles. Styles had allegedly been dating the daughter of the famous Rod Stewart, Kimberly Stewart. Now, sources close to Stewart claim it's all a publicity stunt.

"Directioners" can certainly sleep easy tonight given all the talk about Harry Styles dating another older woman has been laid to rest. Harry Styles dating Kimberly Stewart is supposedly a big PR stunt on the One Direction's part.

"Kimberly and Harry are just friends," stated a source to Fox News, adding, "Rod (Stewart) really likes Harry, so it's good PR for him. There's nothing going on. It's just PR fun."

However, the story may be believable at first but if fans analyse Harry's past PR stunts, these girls in one way or another were linked to him romantically. For example, Styles dating Swift was said to be a PR stunt given Swift's reputation in the business. Right after the "Haylor" couple split up, Harry's publicity went off the roof.

Rod Stewart is an iconic name in the music industry so having Harry Styles date one of his daughters would certainly give One Direction a boost in PR. Also, judging from Kimberly's age and looks, she falls close to the category of cougars which every Hazza fan knows that Styles gravitates towards.

Innumerable tabloids even claimed that Kim was "exactly Harry's type." PR or not, something is undoubtedly going on between Harry and Kim. Both stars have been spotted countless times out and about in Los Angeles. In fact, Styles had even enjoyed a quaint dinner with Rod Stewart's family which goes far to say that things are getting serious.

Of course, fans of One Direction will just have to wait and see where all this takes Harry Styles. Given One Direction's popularity, it's pretty obvious the boys don't need another PR stunt to boost the tabloids talking. The boys already have concerts, a movie and an album out by December which is a clear indication that the world still wants them.

If anything, this PR story is just something to cover up Harry's real relationship with Kimberly Stewart.
