One Direction member Harry Styles has prompted speculations that he was leaving the band a solo track he recorded was leaked online. The British singer’s “Don’t Let Me Go” was uploaded on YouTube on Friday.

The 19-year-old crooner wrote the ballad with friend Sam McCarthy, who also featured his voice in the song.

“Wow! Thanks for all the nice tweets about the song. Harry did most of the words I did the music,” McCarthy, who was pleased with the reaction from the fans, tweeted.

“@Harry_Styles. Trending worldwide LOL. You must be quite popular,” he added in a message to Styles.

Fans of the British boyband need not fear that the group will lose a member, though. A spokesperson for the tween heartthrobs assured them that Styles isn’t planning on going solo for now.

“Please note this is not a Harry Styles solo song. It was a demo they worked on over a year ago that was being considered for a One Direction song,” the rep said.

“Sometimes the boys write and record separately as they work on new material but please make it clear this is not a solo release.”

Styles might not be ready to sign up for a solo career yet, but he’s definitely ready to get a new ink.

The singer debuted a new George Michael-inspired tattoo on his ankles last week. His tattoo, written across both his ankles, is a text that reads “Never gonna dance again,” which is assumed to be a nod to Michael’s 1984 hit “Careless Whisper.”
