Harvard Business School ‘Graduate’ Tyra Banks Criticized, Achieved Short Course Certificate Instead of Formal Degree
Tyra Banks who graduated from Harvard Business School came under fire yesterday when she was criticized for having a short course certificate rather than a formal degree.
Her critics took the time to look over Tyra's qualifications and say that she didn't earn a "proper" degree for the Harvard Business School. The supermodel suggested that she has earned a "diploma" from the prestigious school.
But by the word "diploma" some expects a full accredited degree wherein she only earned a certificate for that matter. Tyra took a 9-week course for Owner/President Management from the university in its degree extension program.
While it is offered in Harvard's extension school program, the head of the program stated that it is very different from the M.B.A. degree program which would take two years for completion.
The truth about Tyra's Harvard qualification came in a report from Jezebel. They criticized the model's habit of making misleading statements about her studies.
"She ought to just tell the truth. Tyra Banks is an accomplished businesswoman. There is no reason to embellish her achievements. A Harvard Business School graduate she is not," the report stated.
Although Miss Banks never claimed on having a Harvard degree, she did boast about her Ivy League credentials when she tweeted a picture of herself on Harvard campus.
On the first photo she was seen up on stage while receiving her certificate. In another picture, she was all smiles on campus and captioned, "Smiling ear2ear on the Harvard Business School campus w/my diploma!"
