On the other hand, Perth Now hinted that the lineup will include a major Australian artist that has yet to be named.
In an interview with Perth Now, frontman for Franz ferdinan, Alex Kapranos said that he was impressed with the line-up. According to him, he was particularly excited about seeing the different acts of all the bands set to perform for the festival in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Franz Ferdinand is set to launch their new album on August 23 entitled, Right Thought, Right Words, Right Action.
The frontman's priceless reaction was, "Wow! There's some pretty amazing bands there! Crikey, I'm very excited about seeing Neutral Milk Hotel. Their album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is one of my highest favourites. Festivals in Australia are always the best - and we get to escape the stinking weather here."
It is to be recalled that following the 1996 launch and tour of the album In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, the Neutral Milk Hotel split after three years.
An old report from The Vine about an upcoming reunion tour said that, "Thanks to that album's legacy, the outfit grew in notoriety, even as Jeff magnum disappeared from public view, becoming a JD Salinger-like-character- who refused interview requests and sparking conspiracy theories from an ever-growing legion fans."
