Hayley Williams Accuses One Direction For Copying Tune Of 'Steal My Girl' From Her Boyfriend's Old Song [SEE VIDEOS]
Hayley Williams from the band Paramore has accused One Direction for stealing the tunes of her boyfriend's song. Williams is of the opinion that One Direction's new song "Steal My Girl" has quite a similar beginning to New Found Glory's song "It's Not Your Fault." Check out both the songs below.
The 26-year-old singer took to Twitter to express her opinion about One Direction's alleged rip off. "Beginning of that new 1D song couldn't sound any more like the beginning of @newfoundglory's "its not your fault" but I realize that I'm gonna get hate from a very large fanbase for that. But really, it has more to do w/ whoever pitched or cowrote the song," Tweeted the singer. Check out the Tweet below.

Interestingly, Chad Gilbert from the band New Found Glory and Hayley are dating each other. Gilbert too is of the opinion that he should "get a cut" in One Direction's song "Steal My Girl" as the song has many similarities to his hit song "It's Not Your Fault." "Props to the @onedirection "steal my girl" single for reworking the "it's not your fault" piano part into a top 40 single. Let me get a cut," writes Gilbert on his Twitter account. The singer received huge backlash from Directioners (fans of One Direction) after his Tweet. Chad apparently did not want to blow the matter out of proportion so dismissed his earlier Tweet about One Direction saying it was "a joke anyway." "Music influences music. No one cares," wrote Chad on his Twitter timeline. Check out his Tweets below.

Wow did not realize this was gonna be a story. It's not a story. My original tweet was a joke anyway. Music influences music. No one cares — Chad Gilbert (@XChadballX) September 29, 2014
Hayley and Chad's belief that One Direction ripped off the tune of "It's Not My Fault" has been echoed by many websites. "If you listen to "Steal My Girl" and "It's Not Your Fault" right next to each other, it's impossible not to pick up on the blatant resemblance," writes Kelly Schremph from the website Bustle.com. The website then talks about the similarities between the intro of the two songs saying they have the "exact same melody" that has been played with different chords. Many Twitter users also feel that the beginning of the two songs is almost same. Check out the Tweets below. Meanwhile, listen to both the songs below.
The beginning of the new 1D song sounds almost identical to the beginning of @newfoundglory's "its not your fault" so there's that — sorry i suck (@_urfaveweapon) September 30, 2014
1D's producers very clearly stole a riff right off NFG's It's Not Your Fault. like... its the same riff. just a worse song

I can hear the similarities in Faithfully and Its not Your Fault. But they are not the exact same. 1Ds song is EXACTLY the same as NFG's — Kirsten Must Die. (@AmericannScream) September 29, 2014
