"He made Matt and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything."

That was how Ben Affleck paid his tribute to Robin Williams who was a part of his Oscar-winning team for Good Will Hunting. The 1997 film, where Williams played therapist Sean Maguire, brought him the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. At the same time, the film brought the Oscar for the writer-duo Ben Affleck and Matt Damon who also starred in the film. The film, directed by Gus Van Sant, was a Launchpad for Affleck and Damon's writing career. Affleck wrote successful films like Gone Baby Gone and The Town later on.

Affleck's post on Facebook on Tuesday, Aug 12, showed how "heartbroken" he was after Williams had been found dead. The 41-year-old seemed to have poured his heart out on social media to give an apt tribute to his friend and co-star. "Heartbroken. Thanks chief - for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true," he wrote, "What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend."

Affleck is one of the several Hollywood stars who earlier paid tribute to Williams. His The Crazy Ones co-star Sarah Michelle Gellar said that Williams was the father she had "always dreamed of having." Fans, on the other hand, used a Boston bench to create a memorial. Williams delivered a monologue at the bench to Damon in Good Will Hunting that eventually changed the latter's life. Fans wrote quotes from the film in chalk on the bench.

Affleck's Facebook post was shared by more than 750 people and liked by around 13,000. Many people commented on the post, paying their own tribute to the deceased actor. Cindy Culler wrote that everyone lost a best friend. "He will never make us smile again, but I thank God for the memories and all the movies I will re-watch, over and over," she wrote.
