Hello Kitty Plane EVA Air Gets 'Kitty' Themed Amenities
Travelling by air is about to get more exciting especially for all Hello Kitty fans. Things will turn up dreamier with EVA, the Taiwanese flag air which offered planes in 2012 with Hello Kitty stickers fixed on the tail. This time, the entire Boeing 777 will get to have other plane items in the Kitty theme.
From pillows, toiletries, tags, snack bags and headrests, you can be sure to see Hello Kitty everywhere. The fruits, vegetables and butter to be served will also follow the Hello Kitty face or maybe go after the design of the famous ca's hair bow.
Now these Hello Kitty planes are on its way to the U.S.! They will be flying to and from Taoyuan International Airport to Los Angeles starting Sept 18.
The Hello Kitty B777-300ER can accommodate up to 312 people. It will operate three times a week for the Taoyuan - Los Angeles route. The airline confirmed with the Business Traveller that construction for the Kitty-themed interiors are still in process. The cabin crews will also be wearing cute Hello Kitty aprons.
According to EVA AIR PR officer from Hong Kong Anna Wong, there are numerous passengers who ever since loved the Hello Kitty planes. This made the EVA Airways to pursue an extension of partnership with Sanrio and come up with two additional planes that will more routes and accommodate more passengers too.
Ms Wong added that the number of passengers wanting to try the special Hello Kitty planes is high. "The response has been excellent so far," she said.
EVA Airways and Sanrio have already partnered up way back in 2005 for the release of the first generation of Hello Kitty planes. The entire fleet was just dispersed when the license agreement between the two parties expired.
Even your boarding passes will have the Hello Kitty stamp and the boarding gate before you enter your plane also has the Kitty design.
Sanrio launched Hello Kitty in 1974 as a white cat with a red bow. After almost 35 years, this female cat has earned $5 billion every year.
