‘Hello’ singer Adele laughs at Jimmy Fallon’s imitation of her accent, debuts new song “Water Under The Bridge” on ‘The Tonight Show’ [Watch]
Appearing on Monday’s episode of “The Tonight Show,” hitmaker Adele did not escape the humorous mockery of the show’s host Jimmy Fallon.
Adele, who speaks in British accent, discussed the release of her third studio album, “25.” Fallon surprisingly responded equally with an imitation of the singer’s accent. The 27-year-old singer simply broke out into hysterical laughter at how “The Tonight Show” host spoke.
“When you speak to it, there it is. You get to hear the other songs as well. It’s not just one --oh, now I’m starting to get an accent,” the host said while holding up a vinyl copy of Adele’s “25.”
Fallon tried to keep the accent during their conversation but Adele interrupted him saying, “You sound like Russell Brand!”
After the host calmed down from laughter, he admitted to Adele how her music was missed during her 4-year hiatus. He also asked the singer whom she missed while on break.
Adele revealed that she’s a fan of Rihanna and Frank Ocean and she missed their presence on the music stage. The “Hello” singer said she has been dying to hear new songs from the two musicians, which she described as “living life on the edge” in a positive way.
The multi-award winning singer called out Frank Ocean to “come back” in the music spotlight. As for Rihanna, Adele couldn’t wait for her to release a new album saying, “I am the biggest RiRi fan. I love her, so I am very excited for that record.”
After their conversation, Adele took to “The Tonight Show” stage her melodic and low-key performance of new song “Water Under the Bridge.” The track is Adele’s third single from her newly released album, “25,” that has been performed on television.
“If you're gonna let me down, let me down gently// Don't pretend that you don't want me// Our love ain't water under the bridge// If you're gonna let me down, let me down gently// Don't pretend that you don't want me// Our love ain't water under the bridge// Say that our love ain't water under the bridge,” she sang while accompanied by her band in the background.
Adele’s newly released long-awaited album, “25,” included her chart topping songs “Hello” and “When We Were Young.”
