‘Hello’ singer Adele to perform one-night-only concert in New York
Multi-award-winning singer Adele is scheduled to perform a one-night-only concert on Nov. 17 at the New York City Radio City Music Hall. Her live performance will be recorded for an NBC one-hour special episode, titled “Adele Live in New York City.”
The concert will be Adele's first since returning to the music scene, and her first in the U.S. since 2011. Her performance will be taped. She is also set to make appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Nov. 23 and “Today” on Nov. 25.
Variety reported that Adele’s one-night-only concert will be filmed the same week as her upcoming performance on the “Saturday Night Live.”
“Adele Live in New York City” will be co-executive produced by Adele, Lorne Michaels and Jonathan Dickins. Famous television director Beth McCarthy-Miller will helm the project.
BBC network is also reportedly airing a one-hour special “Adele at the BBC,” featuring Adele and her music, in November.
After being out of the spotlight for four years, Adele made her return to the music scene in October with a heartfelt single track “Hello.” The track is the singer’s first single from her third album, “25,” which hit platinum in Australia. “Hello” is still no. 1 on ARIA Charts.
The singer-songwriter revealed via Twitter that her new album is her “making up” album -- through this album she is trying to make up with herself and her fans. Adele’s last album, “21,” scored two Grammy Awards, two Billboard Awards and sold more than 30 million copies worldwide.
“My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record. I’m making up with myself. Making up for lost time, Making up for everything I ever did and never did…25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realising,” she said.
Adele’s new album “25” is now available for pre-order on iTunes and is set to release on Nov. 20.
“Adele Live in New York City” is scheduled to air on Dec. 14 on NBC in the U.S.
