After three years of silence about the topic, Rihanna finally opens up about her past relationship with Chris Brown and reveals the reason behind his assault.

Fans of Rihanna doesn't have to wait anymore, the singer opens up during her Oprah interview about details of her failed and abusive relationship with ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown.

And what she confessed about the reason behind Brown's assault three years ago came off as a surprise to everyone.

"Because as angry as I was - as angry and hurt and betrayed - I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help. And who's going to help him? Nobody's going to say he needs help, everybody's going to say he's a monster, without looking at the source. And I was more concerned about him," Rihanna said while armed with a tissue by her hand.

"I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in," the singer continued. "It was embarrassing it was humiliating. I lost my best friend."

In the teaser clip for the full interview with Rihanna, Oprah can be seen probing questions that concerned Chris Brown. She asked, "Do you think Chris Brown is a true love for you?" and "Where does your relationship stand today?"

Rihanna definitely let her guard down and revealed her vulnerable side. In one of the promos ahead of the full interview, Oprah expressed her thoughts on what to expect during her visit to Rihanna as she stays in her hometown in Barbados.

"I went there with my own ideas about who she was from watching her videos and listening to her music.I thought she was gonna be kind of a bada**, a kind of hard edged, rocker, pop woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth," the talk show host said. "She was thoughtful. She was very emotional. She was vulnerable."
