Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is the new Greek hero "Hercules." Swinging his mighty club, the actor transforms from just a regular man into a legend. With the movie trailer released, fans will get the opportunity to get blasted by sound effects and see The Rock fighting the beasts.

In the new "Hercules" trailer posted by Machinima on its official YouTube account, the fans are treated to a whole new world of humans and the Greeks, and don't forget the beasts.

"Before he was a legend, he was a man," the trailer narrates. The movie trailer, to a great extent, offers a preview of the Greek demigod Hercules - his life and his battles - before he became a legend.

"When we see [Hercules] and he's introduced in this story, he doesn't care about his faith, and he doesn't care about who he is, who everyone claims him to be," Dwayne Johnson told Cinemablend. "It doesn't matter to him, because he doesn't have his family . . . The goal was to strike a nice balance between a unique twist in the story, and yet at the same time make sure that we still paid homage to the mythology of Hercules."

In January 2014, "The Legend of Hercules" starring actor Kellan Lutz told the same story, which is the origin story of the mythical Greek hero Hercules. The movie reviews on IMDb, however, are not all that great. One user even gave the movie one star with a review entitled "The Gods are not pleased..." Will "Hercules" starring Johnson have the same fate?

You might want to watch the trailer and find out. In the meantime, here are a few things, particularly two, to know about the new Greek hero Dwayne Johnson before he flaunts his mighty skills on screen:

1. Has a wax figure likeness in Madame Tussaud's museum in New York City.

Yes, Madame Tussaud definitely has a Johnson wax figure, which ranked, according to Tripadvisor as number 247 of 2,624 attractions in NYC.

2. Wrestler no more.

According to Johnson's IMDb page, the actor told Entertainment Magazine in 2006 that he no longer wants to be known as "The Rock."

"I no longer am a wrestler, I am now pursuing a future as an actor and someday as a director. I am not the Rock. I am Dwayne Johnson," Johnson told the magazine. But guess what, the nickname had been his trademark that everybody is still calling him that way.
