Despite the stress that heroine Rachel Donaire went through just days before she gave birth, the wife of Filipino boxer Nonito Donaire's delivered a healthy baby boy through Caesarian operation on Tuesday, July 16.
The proud father immediately posted photos of his newborn son, Jarel, on his Facebook account. The baby weighed 6 lb, 12 oz, making the C-section necessary.
Rachel, who jumped into a swimming pool on July 4 to save a drowning boy despite her near delivery date then, was all smiles in the photo that Nonito also posted, showing the new mother with her infant.
Nonito wrote in his FB status, "No championship belts or victory could amount to the joy I felt the 1st time I heard him cry & held him in my arms."
In a third photo that the boxing champ posted showing Rachel in hospital bed indicating she was in labour, Nonito wrote, "I never felt so helpless in my life. If I can take away the pain if I can take away the fear if I can take away everything that she has sacrificed to be placed on my should on my body on my mind I would, but I can only pray and be by her side, so I ask for prayers that everything will be ok."
