Hidden Camera Found in Gastown Restaurant Washroom
A hidden camera was found in the washroom of a Gastown restaurant. Allan Bosomworth, the co-owner of the restaurant, has been watching or recording people in a place where they are expected to shed their clothes and be naked, according to authorities. An immediate warrant has been issued.
Two ex-employees who used to work in the restaurant informed that the other co-owner, who has not been charged, told them in December that he had found a camera in the washroom. The size of the camera was no bigger than a USB.
The Crown blames Mr Bosomworth for recording or observing people when they shed their clothes in the washroom. A washroom is a place where people are expected to expose their private parts or anal region as they generally get naked in such a place, according to the warrant. The document has referred to section 162 of the Criminal Code as well.
Two Chefs And A Table is a popular destination in Vancouver. There is only one washroom in the restaurant which customers are forced to use in case of emergency. The sole washroom at the 28-seat food joint is also used frequently by the staff members to change clothes.
The restaurant, which is situated at 305 Alexander St., has, however, been closed since June 2013. In the meantime, the company does operate their business in two other restaurants: Two Chefs situated in Richmond, B.C. and Big Lou's Butcher Shop which is just beside the closed location.
On the other hand, the president of the Restaurant and Foodservices Association in B.C., Ian Tostenson, did not seem concerned with the incident. According to CBC reports, he said that it was an individual problem. It should not be considered as a problem by every other restaurant. That is why other restaurant patrons should not be worried, he said.
