Hiddleswift are over: Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston break up

The whirlwind romance of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston has said to come to a complete stop. Tom reportedly wanted more public displays, which only made Taylor a little uncomfortable.

According to Us Weekly, the reason for the split is that Tom wanted to share more about their relationship with their fans, and Taylor was not having it. "Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with,” the publication’s source said. “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

From experience, Taylor would know what too much publicity could do to a relationship. After all, she and DJ Calvin Harris had a year-long relationship that neither party had trouble sharing. And when that ended, the world had no problem dissecting the relationship with the help of social media posts.

Considering that Tom was the one who denied all allegations that his relationship with Taylor was a publicity stunt, the ultimate reason for their breakup is a little ironic.

It was in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter when Tom denied any allegations that his dating Taylor had any hidden agendas. “Well, um, how best to put this?” he started. “The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we’re very happy. Thanks for asking.”

Since the two were first spotted kissing on a Rhode Island beach in June, they had definitely dialed it down. Everything about their relationship was on full gear at the beginning -- they met each other's parents, travelled and even spent holidays together.

However, when Tom started filming “Thor: Ragnarok” in Australia, the relationship apparently started to become a little strained. Despite their efforts, as Taylor spent some time onset, it seems impossible for them to have kept up the high from their first weeks together.

Taylor reportedly was the one who put ended the relationship. However, the two have every intention to remain friends.
