Highlights of the 2012 People’s Choice Awards
People once again have spoken who they think should be on top of it all. The 2012 People's Choice Awards honored the celebrities and artists that dominated the entertainment industry.
The Awards show took place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and featured great performances from some Hollywood's best artists. Moreover, the event was graced by many celebrities.
The shindig was hosted by Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco. This year's People's Choice Awards boasted over 230 million votes and recognized fans favorites in the 43 categories under Movies, TV and Music.
Rookie star Emma Stone got the shocked of her life when she won over veteran actresses like Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Anne Hathaway as Favorite Movie Actress and Favorite Comedic Actress.
Ellen DeGeneres once again named as Favorite Daytime TV Host. Favorite Pop Artist winner Demi Lovato serenaded the crowd in a stunning performance of "Give your Heart a Break." After her performance, she accepted the crystal statue. Songstress Faith Hill also give an astounding performance of her single "Come Home."
Chloe Grace Moretz won the award for Favorite Movie Star Under 25 against the lot of Harry Potter cast.
Veteran actress Betty White received a standing ovation when her co-stars greeted her on her 90th Birthday. Another veteran, Morgan Freeman, received the first Favorite Movie Icon recognizing his distinguished contributions in the industry.
Absentee Katy Perry reaped the most awards, including: Favorite Female Artist, Tour Headliner, Song of the Year for 'E.T' with Kanye West, Music Video for "Last Friday Night," and TV Guest Star for How I Met Your Mother.
There are some awards that were not handed out during the ceremony. Some of those winners include Lady Gaga (favorite album of the year), "American Idol" (favorite TV competition show), Hugh Jackman (favorite action movie star) and Taylor Swift (favorite country artist).
