State Secretary has sent team of diplomat to drum up search for Lara Logan's attackers
US Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton has taken personal interest on the case of CBS News Reader, Lara Logan and has called on Egypt to go after the attackers.
According to the State Department, Clinton deployed a team of diplomats to put more pressure on the Egyptian government in hunting the perpetrators behind the attacks and sexual attack against the journalist.
With violence against women as one of the top priorities of the Secretary of State, the latest incident suffered by Logan, CBS Chief Foreign Correspondent, is deemed of paramount’ importance to Clinton, the State deparment said in a statement.
Clinton earlier described the incident ‘horrific’ and wanted the Egyptian government to boost their hunts on the suspected and identified attackers.
“I know the secretary is obviously aware of the case and very concerned by it,” the State Department spokesman, Mark Toner was quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.
"Obviously the safety and well-being of journalists has been a concern throughout this entire situation in Egypt,” Toner added.
The state department has reiterated putting security of journalists in place.
“We have engaged with the Egyptian government and in multiple cases we’ve tracked the whereabouts and safety of journalists throughout,” State department spokesman added, said Reuters.

Lara was covering the aftermath of the resignation of President Hosni Mubarak, when she was forcibly separated from her crew, attacked and sexually assaulted by some groups who are celebrating at Tahrir Square, Cairo, Egypt.
