The ex-Disney Princess-turned-Hollywood A-lister, Hilary Duff, gave birth to a healthy baby boy last Tuesday.

Before updates of Reese Witherspoon's pregnancy broke out, exciting baby news paved way for Hilary Duff fans. The successful actress, who married NHL star Mike Comrie last year, has given birth to a baby boy.

Named Luca Cruz Comrie, the baby weighs 7 pounds and 6 ounces, and was welcomed to the world celebrity style. Feeling so much excitement and joy, Duff used her Twitter account to announce this important milestone in her life.

"Welcome to the World Luca Cruz Comrie! We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world." tweeted Duff.

Even before Luca Cruz was born, it was evident that Duff has felt nothing but pure anticipation and the eagerness to become a mother. In a past interview, she shared how much she is thrilled to start a family of her own.

"People keep saying to me, 'Sleep right now. Get your sleep!' I keep saying, 'I just want the baby here! I want to play and I'm ready to see what he looks like." says Duff in a past statement.

Before Luca was born, Hilary enjoyed a baby shower prepared by her sister, Haylie and their mother. After the charming little party, the star announced how she felt on that day.

"What an amazing day my mommy and @HaylieK threw it down!best baby shower!This baby is spoiled already! And this mama is wiped out!!" wrote Duff in her account.

The ex-Lizzy McGuire star didn't stop there. She added a new tweet to express her gratitude towards those who made her maternity special.

"So grateful for all my friends and family that love and support me through all these huge milestones in my life! Such special memories today! (sic)"
