The Hobbit 2013 Premiere: The Black Carpet Highlights, Dominic Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom, Luke Evans (See Trailer)
"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" premiere is happening now in Los Angeles, California where the film's cast and crew will see the movie for the first time on the big screen. The premiere's black carpet is filled with Hobbit's fans and Hollywood stars who are excited for the film's world premiere plus the chance to get up close and personal with the dragon Smaug.
The black carpet literally lights up when Bilbo Baggins, Martin Freeman's character, arrived in the premiere at the Dolby Theater. The live stream of the premiere went live at 9:30 p.m. ET on December 2 where fans will get to see their favorite Middle Earth characters.
The black carpet coverage features the appearances of "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" director Peter Jackson with daughter Katie, Richard Armitage who plays Thorin Oakenshield, Benedict Cumberbatch who is the voice of the dragon Smaug, Luke Evans who plays Bard the Bowman, Orlando Bloom who is back on playing Legolas, Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel and Stephen Fry who plays the Master of Laketown.
"The Desolation of Smaug" is due in theaters December 13 and is the second installment of the Hobbit trilogy based on the novel of J.R.R. Tolkien. The film features Bilbo Baggins' journey to help the dwarfs led by Thorin Oakenshield so he can reclaim the land that is rightfully his.
But there is one big problem - to reclaim the treasures of his land they have get through Smaug - a dragoon who hoarded the treasures. In their journey the gang met a host of friends and foes, including a new character played by Evangeline Lilly, Tauriel - the first character in the series that is wholly invented by Peter Jackson.
The premiere was hosted by Dave Karver and his co-host Amy Paffrath who will be interviewing fans for the premiere. The whole event was really cool when most of the characters in the movie are unrecognizable in the black carpet.
Manu Bennet who is famous from his role in HBO's Spartacus is playing Asog in the movie and was in attendance in the premiere.
