Hollywood actor Liam Neeson narrates that document about Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao titled Manny. Directed by Leon Gast and Ryan Moore, Academy Award winners, the docu focuses on the rise to fame of the poor boy from General Santos City to an international boxing icon but also touches on his misfortunes.

Gast is not new to boxing docus, having made When We Were King that was about the boxing match between 1970s boxing greats Muhammad Ali and George Foreman.

The docu is slated for release in theatres this 2014, considered timely because of the strong buzz swirling in the boxing world that Pacquiao could possibly battle Floyd Mayweather Jr in the dream match.

However, for that bout to happen, Pacquiao's lawyer. Franklin Gacal, advised the eight-division title holder to leave Bob Arum, his long-time promoter. He pointed out that since Mayweather doesn't want anything to do with Arum due to a fall out over management decisions, Pacquiao's option it not to renew his contract with Arum's Top Rank which ends in 2014.

Gacal used to be Pacquiao's chief of staff at the House of the Representatives and used to review his contracts but now is on leave because of a stroke.

He said Pacquiao has only 4 fights left under Top Rank, 2 in 2014 and 2 in 2015.
