Hollywood actor Matt Bomer (Chuck, White Collar) pushes for religious tolerance in a new public service announcement. Bomer appears in the new PSA from the USA Network's Characters Unite campaign, to persuade the public to be more tolerant towards religions other than their own.

While admitting it as a "sensitive issue," Bomer does not shy away from noting that religious intolerance has been growing. In the United States, the construction of a mosque on Ground Zero, the site of September 11 bombing, has sparked a passionate debate on the propriety of its location. The debate has since delve into the issue of religious tolerance in the country.

"It's been a sensitive issue since, oh, the beginning of time, but lately it seems that religious intolerance has been growing," says Bomer.

"While we can disagree about the past and we can argue about the future, we're all here now!"

The video is produced for Character Unite campaign recently launched by USA Netwrok. On their Web site, the television network described Character Uniter as a multiplatform campaign designed to help form more perfect union "by combating intolerance, prejudice, discrimination and hate and promoting greater acceptance, understanding and mutual respect for all people."
