Angelina Jolie has marked her 37th birthday on June 4 and has a lot to look forward to this year, and she sure has a long list of reasons to celebrate on her special day.

The Oscar Award-winning actress is a mother of six and she recently became engaged to longtime partner Brad Pitt. The couple is rumored to marry next year but they have not set a date yet.

"We truly have no date," said Pitt during the Cannes Film Festival last month.

"We actually, really, truly have no date," the actor confirmed. The 48-year-old Pitt has been in a relationship with Jolie since 2005. "We're still hoping we figure out marriage equality in the States before that date," added Pitt, referring to his endorsement of same-sex marriage before noting that his engagement was something that made sense.

Jolie was born in Los Angeles, California to actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Her godparents are actors Jacqueline Bisset and Maximillian Schell. In the course of her acting career, Forbes has named Jolie as Hollywood's highest-paid actress in both 2009 and 2011. She has received an Academy Award, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards.

Besides being one of the most well-known names in Hollywood, the "United Nations Goodwill Ambassador" continues her humanitarian efforts across the globe. Most recently, the actress joined forces with Britain's foreign secretary William Hague in London to help launch an initiative to combat sexual violence overseas.

Although Jolie did quite the job for the film "In the Land of Blood and Honey" as director, she will still return in front of the camera for her latest project "Maleficent" which will recreate the Disney classic "Sleeping Beauty" where she will, of course, portray the wicked fairy.

Highly scrutinized by the media, the actress shares three adopted children and three biological children with Pitt namely Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne. The couple has homes in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Cambodia, France, and Italy. While the already large family is preparing for a wedding, many speculate that Pitt and Jolie may have more children in the future.
