Is this another suicide attempt? "Melrose Place" star Heather Locklear has been taken to the hospital last Thursday afternoon after a 911 emergency call was placed from her home near Los Angeles earlier that day.

The sheriff's department in Ventura County, west of Los Angeles, has confirmed that the actress was needed to be transported to the hospital for further medical attention. Locklear's representatives did not return calls for comment.

"Emergency response personnel responded to a medical emergency call at Ms. Locklear's residence. Once they arrived, it was determined that Ms. Locklear needed to be transported to the hospital for further medical attention," Ventura County Sheriff's Capt. Mike Aranda told "People." Aranda told NBC News that when deputies arrived, paramedics were already administering aid to the actress.

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Los Robles Hospital in Thousand Oaks, California confirmed to KNBC TV that Heather Locklear was admitted and will stay overnight.

"She was conscious, still in a good condition, medically stable and resting comfortably," said Kris Carraway-Bowman, VP of marketing and public relations for the hospital.

The Associated Press reports that Locklear remained in an intensive care unit. "Us Weekly" has also quoted hospital spokeswoman Kris Carraway-Bowman saying that Locklear's parents William and Diane wanted everybody to know that the actress is doing well.

"She's fine, she's not in any danger, she's healthy," the spokeswoman confirmed.

According to TMZ, it was the actress' sister who made the call shortly after 2 p.m. The website also reported that law enforcement sources said Locklear, 50, had mixed alcohol with prescription drugs. The actress, who also appeared in the TV comedy "Spin City", has a history of depression and spend time in rehab in 2008.

Locklear was married to rock star Tommy Lee and later Richie Sambora in the 1990's. In 2007, she began dating fellow "Melrose Place" actor Jack Wagner but their engagement was called off two months ago.

A source told Radar Online that the actress became distraught over her relationship with Jack Wagner. "It is on and off and it has upset her lately," the source said. Locklear and Wagner ended their engagement in November, saying that it was the best thing for their children.
